About The University
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad was established in August, 1958. The University is serving the cause of higher education with its motto- Fifty years of excellence and social commitment. (www.bamu.net) The Sub-Campus at Osmanabad of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad was established on 5th August 2004. Currently sub centre is having seven full-fledged post graduate departments.

The Department
The Microbiology Department at Osmanabad has only five years history. The Department has organized one national workshop, one national conference, one regional conference, one farmer gathering, and one student gathering to percolate biotechnology. The main area of the research is Actinomycetes. The faculty has published one book on Biofertilizers.The department is running one major research project and three minor research projects.
