About us  

       University authority has started Sub- centre at Osmanabad from 16th August 2004. In the Ist Academic year , the Sub-Center was running two departments viz Education & English .From next academic year, the Sub-center was introduced four departments viz Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Master of Management science (MMS). The department of Microbiology is two years old is started from June 2005

Syllabus

 

       M.Sc. Microbiology course of two years is divided into four semesters

    i.                      Each semester of 300 Marks.

ii.                     Each semester ( I,II and II ) will have four (4) theory papers each of 50 marks and four (4) practical papers each of 25 marks

iii.                   Last semester  will have four (4) theory papers each of 50 marks and four (4) practical papers each of 25 marks. In the last semester instead of 2 practical papers research project of 50 marks will be assigned between three students.

Facilities

The department of Microbiology is having very well established laboratory having many sophisticated instruments required for the research. Department is having U.V. Spectrophotometer , gel electrophoresis unit, High speed centrifuge , Electronic balance , Laminar Air flow , Incubators, shakers , U.V.chamber  pH meter, colorimeter , Deep freeze, Ultra-sonicator , and computers etc.The department library is having many basic and advanced books, which are used by the students for M.Sc. course syllabus and for research work.Internet facility is also made available for the students. Students use this facility for collection of information on syllabus and research related material Internet facility seems to be very useful for the students doing dissertation work.

Any other :   Department is actively involved in conducting many activities which credits awareness in societies.

  • Department had organized one day workshop for farmers on ‘Biofertilisers and Biopesticides’.
  • One day lecture on ‘Dengue fever and Chicken  guinea.
  • Poster presentation on organic farming at Siddheswar –Wadgaon village.

Academic Activity:-  In the last two years department has organized many academic activities for the development of students. Department has organized fallowing activities.

  • One –day workshop on ‘Molecular Biology’ on 18 Aug 2005.
  • One day lecture on ‘Tissue culture and floriculture’ delivered by Mr. Kishor Nirmal.
  • A national conference on ‘Biofertilizer and Biopesticides’ on date 19-21 Feb 2006.
  • One –day lecture on ‘Environment’ delivered by Dr. Shejule on 5th June 2006. 
  • One –day lecture on ‘Quality Control and Quality Assurance’ by Mr. Pravin Kulkarni.
  • One –day lecture on ‘Tissue Culture’ delivered by Dr. S.P.Govindwar
